Ladder Safety

Ladders are one of the most commonly used pieces of equipment. Because they are efficient, many different people use ladders to perform many different tasks.

But beware; care is still necessary to use ladders safely as most accidents are caused by improper ladder selection or careless use, not from manufacturing defects.

Many employees usually take ladders or stairways for granted and don't take the appropriate precautions.

A good accident prevention program addresses correct ladder selection, good work procedures and adequate ladder maintenance. Some accidents that can be predicted and prevented include the use of unstable ladders, electrical shock problems and falls.
