For openers this Outline pokes fun at serious "horseplay" infractions. Then "Housekeeping and the Law" turns serious citing many OSHA rules that, if broken, can result in fines.

Rounding out the topic it catalogues hazards that a reliability engineer would look for when evaluating a company's housekeeping practices.

Good housekeeping makes every task safer.

Rudyard Kipling wrote the famous poem "IF", with the opening lines:

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you...

The golden rule of Housekeeping included here also uses the word "If" numerous times and by following this rule, no one can blame you. Learn Why.

“A neat and tidy workplace is a safe workplace.”

A clean, organized place is usually a safe place.

Besides offering examples of shoddy housekeeping practices this topic challenges employees to point out where, in their own workplace, better housekeeping is needed.

Companies provide tools and equipment to accomplish this.

Do workers know where they are and what they're for? Help them find out.
