The seemingly simple operation of moving materials around with forklifts, powered hand jacks, conveyors or by hand can create a false sense of security. However, while a distribution center may appear to be just a storage center, a warehouse can be a busy, action packed place where management may need to do more to protect workers.
Proactive warehouse management should invest in the safety training needed to prevent injuries and losses not only from lifting and carrying but also from chemical exposure, fire hazards, ergonomic problems and failure to wear personal protective equipment.
Use these Outlines to enforce safe practices and implement appropriate corrective action.
