Food/Package Goods

Millions of workers are employed to manufacture food/package products, e.g. beverages, soaps, household cleaners, drugs, canned and packaged foods, etc. As lifting-related injuries, commonly called back injuries, are not unusual, employees must be taught lifting and carrying safety skills. Conveyors and forklift moving equipment are other critical components of packaged goods manufacturing, which, if left unguarded or improperly used, could cause potentially severe injuries. Since wet conditions are often present in food packaging, adequate drainage is necessary to provide fall protection against slip, trips and falls. Finally, for the safety of employees servicing this equipment it must be secured with lockout/tagouts so that any unit being overhauled cannot be accidentally energized. All this and much more is in SafetyWorld's Library.
